An Indian Film Director and Script writer, Actor, Director, Writer and Historian. Best-remembered for essaying the titular role in television epic-drama Chanakya. His association with books is reflected in the film adaptation of Amrita Pritam`s book Pinjar and then Mohalla Assi, again a film adaptation of Dr. Kashi Nath Singh`s novel. Dr. Dwivedi, for his notable works, has been awarded with Padma Shri by Govt. of India.
